Drop Everything and Read!
In line with the implementation of the National Reading Program as an integral component of the National Learning Recovery Program (NLRP), Betty Go-Belmonte Elementary School Join the Department of Education implements Catch-up Fridays.
Starting this January 12, 2024 through the Drop Everything and Read (DEAR) Day, this initiative aims to provide learners with the opportunity to engage in independent silent reading of their preferred material.
Catch-up Fridays is designed to strengthen the foundational, social, and other relevant skills necessary to actualize the intent of the basic education curriculum by focusing on the development of learner's reading, critical thinking, analytical, and writing skills.

Samahan ang Kagawaran ng Edukasyon at pamunuan ng Paaralang Betty Go - Belmonte mula Setyembre 5 hanggang Oktubre 5 sa pagdiriwang ng National Teachers’ Month. Sa temang “Gurong Pilipino, Dangal ng Sambayanang Pilipino,” ating bigyang-pugay ang husay at kadakilaan ng mga Pilipinong guro na patuloy na nagbibigay ng hindi matatawarang dedikasyon para sa pag-abot ng pangarap ng bawat batang Pilipino.
TINGNAN: Nagbalik-eskwela na ngayong Lunes, Agosto 22 2022, ang mga mag-aaral sa Betty Go-Belmonte Elementary School.
Maagang binisita ng monitoring team ng SDO Quezon City, sa pangunguna ni Public Schools District Supervisor Dr. Rebecca C. Kalaw, ang paaralan upang alamin ang sitwasyon ng mga mag-aaral ngayong unang araw ng eskwela.
Katuwang ang mga miyembro ng PNP, mga Barangay Officials, Stakeholders, LTO San Juan at iba pang partners ng DepEd, patuloy na sinisiguro ng paaralan ang kaligtasan ng mga bata sa pamamagitan ng maayos na pagpapatupad ng health and safety protocols.
With the LTO San Juan also part of the DepEd Task Force monitoring.
With the PNP Galas, Station 11 monitoring and keeping our school grounds safe and secured.
𝗧𝗶𝗽𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗿𝗮 𝘀𝗮 𝗺𝗴𝗮 𝗺𝗮𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗴 𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗶𝗿𝘀𝘁-𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝗿𝘀 𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝗻-𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻 𝗰𝗹𝗮𝘀𝘀𝗲𝘀
Bukas ay ang pagsisimula ng klase sa ating bansa. Para sa maraming learners, ito ang araw kung kailan muli silang makakabalik sa paaralan at muling makikita ang kanilang mga kaibigan at mga kaklase.
Ngunit, para sa ibang mga Grade 1 hanggang Grade 3 learners, ito ang kauna-unahang pagkakataon na sila ay lalahok sa in-person classes. Bukod sa pangamba sa kanilang kalusugan dulot ng COVID-19, ito rin ay maaaring magdulot ng kaba at pagkabahala sa mga learners dahil ito ang unang beses na mawawalay sila sa kanilang pamilya.
Bago pa man ang pagsasagawa ng 5 araw na in-person classes sa Nobyembre, narito ang mga tips para sa magulang ng mga learners na sasabak sa first day of in-person classes bukas upang maibsan ang first day jitters at masiguro na magiging magandang experience ito para sa mga learners.

Dahil sa distance learning, naging mas flexible ang routines ng mga learners.Ibang-iba ang routine ng remote learning at in-person learning kung saan hindi na kailangan gumising nang maaga ng mga learners upang mag-prepare sa pagpasok sa eskwela. Maaaring ma-shock ang mga learner sa pagbabago ng kanilang routine katulad ng sleeping schedules at oras sa paggawa ng mga assignments. Kung kaya’t mainam sa mga magulang na simulan na ang routine management bago pa man magsimula ang first day of school. Makakatulong ang pagkokondisyon na ito upang hindi ma-overwhelm ang mga bata.
Mahalaga na sa bahay pa lamang ay alam na ng mga learners ang kalahagahan ng standard health requirements na ipinatutupad sa mga paaralan.Mabuti na bigyan na ng ideya ng mga magulang ang kanilang mga anak kung ano ang facemask at paano ito isuot nang tama at kung kailan dapat palitan ang mga ito. Dapat rin ay alam ng mga learners kung ano ang social distancing pati na rin ang tamang paghuhugas ng kamay para tunay na maging handa ang mga learners sa in-person classes.
Sa halos dalawang taon ng distance learning, maaaring nasanay na ang mga learners na nasa tahanan lamang. Hindi imposible na magkaroon ng separation anxiety ang mga bata. Ang separation anxiety ay nagdudulot ng sobrang pag-iisip o pagiging malungkot ng mga bata kapag malayo o hindi nila nakikita ang kanilang mga mahal sa buhay. Maaaring magdulot ito ng distress o pagkabalisa. Maaaring mag-tantrums ang mga bata lalo na sa unang araw ng pasukan. Makakatulong na ang mga magulang ay manatiling malumanay at kalmado sa mga pagkakataong ito. Subukang maging maunawain at ipaliwanag mabuti ang mangyayari sa araw na ito. Iwasan ang magalit at magtaas ng boses.
Dahil ito ang unang beses na sila ay papasok sa eskwelahan, magandang handa ang mga learners sa mangyayari. Ipaalam ang oras ng uwian at sabihin kung sila ay susunduin o ano pa mang tagubilin upang may ideya ang mga learners at hindi sila maguluhan. Maaari ring ipaalam sa kanila ang kanilang teacher at classroom bago pa man magsimula ang klase. Dapat rin ay may kaalaman ang mga bata sa COVID-19 upang alam nila ang kanilang dapat at hindi dapat gawin.
sa sa mga pangunahing skill na itinuturo sa paaralan ay ang social skills o ang pakikipagsalamuha ng mga learners sa kapwa o sa mga mas nakakatanda sa kanila katulad ng kanilang mga guro. Dahil sa nakaraang dalawang taon ng remote learning kung saan nanatili sa mga tahanan ang mga learners at nalimitahan ang kanilang interaksyon sa kapwa nila learners, maaaring maging uncomfortable sila sa in-person classes. Paalalahanan ninyo ang inyong mga anak na hindi masama ang makipag-socialize sa iba nilang mga classmate ngunit paalalahanan din sa mga safety precautions.

Hulyo 12, 2022 — Inilabas ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd) ang mga gabay sa School Calendar and Activities para sa Taong Panuruan 2022-2023 alinsunod sa commitment nito sa pagpapatuloy ng 5 araw ng in-person classes.
Nilagdaan ni Bise Presidente at Kalihim Sara Z. Duterte nitong Lunes, itinatakda ng DepEd Order No. 034, series of 2022 ang pagsisimula ng klase sa Agosto 22 at magtatapos sa Hulyo 7, 2023. Magkakaroon ng 203 araw ng pasukan o maaaring matukoy ng karagdagang issuances kung sakaling may mga pagbabago sa kalendaryo ng paaralan dahil sa mga hindi inaasahang pangyayari.
Sa issuance, ibinibigay rin ng DepEd ang direksyon at gabay sa muling pagbubukas ng klase at ang unti-unting pagpapakilala ng 5 araw ng in-person learning modality classes.
Ayon sa DO 034, s. 2022, hindi kakailanganin ang mga inspeksyon, kasangkapan, o anumang karagdagang requirement upang muling buksan ang mga paaralan at sa pagpapatupad ng kinakailangan na limang (5) araw na in-person classes, maliban sa pagsunod sa mga karaniwang pre-pandemic regulatory permit at lisensya na kinakailangan sa pamamagitan ng batas o ordinansa.
Itinakda ng DepEd ang mga pagpipilian lamang na 5 na araw na person in-person classes, blended learning modality, at full distance learning hanggang Oktubre 31, 2022.
Simula Nobyembre 2, 2022, lahat ng pampubliko at pribadong eskuwelahan ay dapat sumusunod na sa 5 araw na in-person classes. Walang paaralan ang papayagang magpatupad ng purong distance learning o blended learning maliban sa mga nagpapatupad ng Alternative Delivery Modes na nakatakda sa DO 21, s. 2019 (Policy Guidelines on the K to 12 Basic Education Program) at DO 01, s. 2022 (Revised Policy Guidelines on Homeschooling Program).
Samantala, ang learning intervention para sa Alternative Learning System (ALS) ay opisyal na magsisimula sa nasabing petsa ng pagbubukas, habang ang itatagal ng programa ay nakadepende sa educational background ng estudyante o sa umiiral na antas ng kaalaman bago mag-enroll sa ALS program.
Kaugnay ng pagbubukas ng paaralan, iaaplay ang mga implementing guidelines sa School Calendar and Activities para sa SY 2022-2023 sa mga pampubliko at pribadong paaralang elementarya at sekondarya, kabilang ang Community Learning Centers (CLCs) sa buong bansa. Maaaring ipatupad ng mga pribadong paaralan, state/local na unibersidad, at kolehiyo ang kalendaryo. Maaari rin silang magsimula ng mga klase nang hindi mas maaga kaysa sa unang Lunes ng Hunyo at hindi lalampas sa huling araw ng Agosto.
Ang enrollment ay gaganapin mula Hulyo 25 hanggang Agosto 22, at ang Brigada Eskwela at Oplan Balik Eskwela ay isasagawa mula Agosto 1 hanggang 26 at sa Agosto 15, ayon sa pagkakabanggit.
Bukod pa rito, ang Basic Education Development Plan (BEDP) 2030, Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan (LRCP), at Classroom-based and System Assessments ay gagabay sa mga paaralan sa epektibong paghahatid ng K to 12 Basic Education Program sa gitna ng pandemya ng COVID-19.

Mainit na pagbati sa mga opisyal ng paaralan, mga administrador, mga faculty member at adviser, mga guro, at mga magulang ng mga nagtapos, at mga completer ng Taong Panuruan 2021-2022!
Sa ngalan ng Kagawaran ng Edukasyon (DepEd), ipinagmamalaki ko na ipagdiwang ang mga tagumpay, pinagdaanan, at natamong karangalan ng mga nagtapos sa batch na ito at mga mag-aaral na na-promote sa End-of-School Year rites ngayong taon na may temang “Gradweyt ng K to 12: Masigasig sa mga Pangarap at Matatag sa mga Pagsubok” (K to 12 Graduates: Pursuing Dreams and Fostering Resilience in the Face of Adversity).”
Sa nakalipas na anim na taon, tumalima kami sa aming mandato na pagandahin ang kalidad ng edukasyon, palawakin ang access, at siguraduhin ang kaugnayan nito sa mabilis na pagbabago ng mundo.
Pinagsumikapan ng DepEd na tugunan ang bawat hamon sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatupad ng mga programa at reporma sa Kagawaran. Buo naming naipatupad ang K to 12 curriculum at ang mga agresibong reporma ng Sulong Edukalidad na lumikha ng globally competitive na mga mag-aaral at mga guro. Pinalawig din namin ang aming misyon para sa abot-kamay na edukasyon sa pamamagitan ng pagpapatibay ng Alternative Leaning System (ALS) at ng Last Mile Schools program upang maabot pa ang maraming Pilipino. Gayundin, itinatag din namin ang National Academy of Sports (NAS) at Education Futures Unit upang gumawa ng marami pang oportunidad para sa ating mga mag-aaral at maasahan ang kinabukasan ng sistema ng edukasyon sa ating bansa.
Tumatalima sa pagpapanatili ng momentum na ito, binuo at ipinatupad ng Kagawaran ang Basic Education-Learning Continuity Plan (BE-LCP), kung saan nag-alok ang Kagawaran ng iba’t ibang learning modalities at gumawa ng award-winning na mga inisyatiba tulad ng DepEd TV at DepEd Commons sa kasagsagan ng pandemya. Sa huli, ipinagpatuloy ng Kagawaran ang adhikain nito laban sa di-pangkaraniwang hamon sa pangunahing edukasyon habang tayo ay progresibong nagpapalawak ng muling pagbubukas ng face to face classes sa bansa.
Sa katunayan, ang edukasyon ay tunay na isang shared responsibility. Kung kaya ipinahahayag namin ang aming mataas na pagpapahalaga sa aming mahal na mga magulang at guro sa pagiging mga katuwang sa pagpapanday ng mga kabataan sa nagdaang mga taon.
Sa Class of 2022, nasa dugo ninyo ang katatagan. Nalagpasan ninyo ang isa sa mga pinakamahirap na panahon sa kasaysayan ng sangkatauhan at sa kabila nito, niyakap pa rin ang edukasyon bilang pangunahing kagamitan sa tagumpay. Naniniwala akong sa inyong masidhing damdamin at layon, makakamit ninyo ang inyong mga pangarap at babaguhin ang mundo.
Nawa’y panatilihin ninyong makamit at ibahagi ang inyong karunungan, bilang magkakasama, makabubuo tayo ng isang bansa ng mga magagaling na mamamayan ng mundo at mga lider sa hinaharap.

Today we are featuring the story of one teacher who went beyond the call of duty to find ways to deliver quality education to his students. Mike Armentia works at the Betty Go Belmonte Elementary School in Quezon City. When one parent told him she could no longer pick up printed modules in person, he thought of a way to make the lessons more accessible. Despite having no formal coding training, he was able to create an online learning app that consumes low data.

BGBES LEAP Mobile Application is already up online and use by our learners for it's 2nd year, with its new feature, the "Users Data Gathering" in a way of Attendance where can we monitor the log-in data of our Learners everyday while accessing all the learning resources they need, and additional learning resource is the Interactive Activities that our learners can play while learning. We dont need to print or distribute modules for the safety of our teachers and parents just access the apps ang everthing is ready.

Pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 329, s. 1993, the period from September 2 to 8 every year is celebrated as the National Literacy Week, where the Department of Education along with its education stakeholders are enjoined to participate in various activities relevant to literacy programs.
The National Literacy Week, with its main goal to promote literacy among all Filipino learners, aims to:
generate awareness and appreciation of literacy programs and projects among educators, learners, stakeholders, and the community;
highlight the role of education in the eradication of illiteracy;
create interest and understanding of issues and concerns related to literacy among various sectors;
develop and sustain a critical mass of social mobilizers, advocates, and supporters of literacy; and
recognize those who have dedicated their life's work to reaching out to illiterate individuals and communities.

DepEd taps telco partners for free access to DepEd Commons
APRIL 20, 2020 — Learners and teachers can now access the online learning platform DepEd Commons without incurring data charges on their Globe or TM-powered smartphones as the Department of Education ties up with the local telecommunication company in ensuring educational continuity amidst the COVID-19 situation.
Education Secretary Leonor Magtolis Briones spearheaded the call for support from the telcos in providing free access to DepEd Commons (https://commons.deped.gov.ph), the Department’s online education delivery platform designed as alternative mode for teaching-learning process during class suspensions and other similar circumstances.
“In this time of crisis, it is important that we make it possible to overcome this challenge with solid partnershlps wlth the prlvate sector. We are thankful on our partners’ generosity in support of the continuity of public education by providing us free data for DepEd Commons access amid the COVID-19 situation,” Secretary Briones said.
The Education chief also secured the support of the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) and National Telecommunications Commission (NTC) in the initiative backing delivery of public education services through connectivity.
DepEd Commons contains online review materials and Open Educational Resources (OER) authored by public school teachers who are subject matter experts. Teachers can retain, reuse, revise, remix, and redistribute the content by blending it with a learning management system to deliver a distance learning modality.
Based on the latest data, DepEd Commons has 4,236,667 users accessing online learning materials at the height of the ECQ. The number of users is projected to continue to rise in the coming days.
“We are facing many challenges in ensuring the continuity of education especially in this extremely difficult situation that we are in. In partnership with Globe, DepEd is steadily moving forward in bringing educational resources to the teachers and the learners wherever they may be,” DepEd Undersecretary for Administration Alain Del B. Pascua said.
The platform also integrates the Globe eLibrary, an online platform which features age-appropriate and engaging e-books ranging from storybooks for children and young adults to textbooks on core subjects such as Math, Science, English, Filipino, Music, Arts, among others.
“Even in this time of crisis where most of us, including the teachers and students have to stay at home, it is important that learning continue. We are happy to provide this service to DepEd in cooperation with the DICT and NTC,” Globe Chief Sustainability Officer and SVP for Corporate Communications Yoly Crisanto said.
However, Globe is reminding the public that while access to the site using the Globe/TM network will not entail any data charges, it does not cover the links outside the DepEd Commons domain. Thus, all links clicked and visited will still incur standard data charges.
